Personal, Social & Health Education

At Chelford CE Primary School, our pupils and staff benefit from a nurturing learning environment which prioritises their wellbeing and happiness. This is supported by our PHSCE and Relationships curriculum in which pupils learn to value the most important things in life: the value of belonging, loving and learning as part of our Christian family.

Our PHSCE and Relationships Education curriculum is built around the Heartsmart scheme of learning. To accompany this scheme, information regarding the coverage of Sex Education is outlined in our Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) and Health Education Policy.

Alongside this, our pupils’ wellbeing is promoted in our collective worship assemblies - where children learn to embrace the values of Christianity - and through designated curriculum weeks - such as Wellbeing week, which takes place in the spring term of our Year B rolling programme of study. Our pupils also learn to embrace citizenship through the use of regular visits - for example, from PCSOs and other agencies - and through the many opportunities pupils are given to take leadership roles (School Council, Safety Squad, Eco Council).
