Thursday 28 March 2024 Spring Concert It was a delight to see the hall once again full to capacity for our end of term concert on Tuesday. Pupils shared a number of items including solo piano and brass pieces, as well as whole class performances capturing the learning that has taken place over the course of the term. We were especially impressed with the progress Class 3 pupils have made in developing their brass skills such a short space of time - we cannot wait to see how their skills continue to develop in the summer term! Our Young Voices choir also enjoyed the opportunity to perform the Matilda medley from the YV concert back in February, and Class 1 pupils provided a mediterranean flavour with a Spanish-inspired number from the recent Barnaby Bear concert at Congleton Town Hall. Class 1 pupils also impressed with their sea shanties whilst Class 2’s call and response pieces inspired by songs from Africa, were another highlight.

Friday 2 February 2024 The Word on Wood This week, we were delighted to take delivery of some bespoke carved items which help to celebrate the Christian profile of the school. Mr Brady shared the items with pupils in collective worship on Tuesday. Two blocks bear our school strapline ‘Learning to Love Together’ / ‘Loving to Learn Together’ and our values tree displays each of our 6 school values - kindness, resilience, forgiveness, inclusion, aspiration and respect. Finally our scroll cross offers the opportunity for children to write their own prayers on scrolls and insert them into the spaces on the cross. These can then be shared with our school community in acts of collective worship. We hope that our new display serves as a place that children can use for reflection and contemplation.
