New Reception 2025 2026

Please find below a list of useful documents for families of new Reception pupils starting at Chelford CE Primary School in September 2025.

Some key dates for Reception 2025 / 2026 transition activities:

Tuesday June 10th at 2:30pm - School hall - Parents’ welcome meeting

Parents are invited to meet our EYFS staff, Mrs Baker and Mrs Jackson as we outline how our Early Years provision works. During the meeting, we will provide an outline of the EYFS curriculum, our daily routines and share what information we would like you toprovide ahead of your child’s start in September. We will provide a range of materials and information to take with you and we are hopeful that Louise Renshaw, from Classworx (our school uniform provider), will be on hand to go through uniform requirements and share information on the services that they provide.

Transition afternoon 1: Monday 30th June 1:15pm - 3:15 pm

As part of our transition process, we offer two afternoons for our new pupils to join us in order to meet their new teachers and to begin to develop some friendships with their peers.

Our first session will take place on Monday 30th June 2025. We invite parents to bring their child to the main entrance at 1:15pm where they will be taken to our Class 1 getting for an afternoon of play. Parents are invited to collect children from the main entrance at 3:15pm.

Transition afternoon 2: Monday 7th July: 11:45am - 3:15pm

For our second transition event, we would invite the children to spend their lunchtime with us. We request that children arrive at the main entrance at 11:45am, where they will be taken down to Class 1 with their packed lunches for a special teddy bears’ picnic. Please be aware that we are a nut-free school and request that all packed lunches are free from any nuts. Children are welcome to bring their favourite teddy bear or cuddly toy, who they can introduce to their friends and teachers. Again, we request that children are collected from the main entrance at 3:15pm.
