Ofsted Report
Chelford CE Primary School was inspected on 8th December 2021. The inspection report can be accessed by clicking on the link at the bottom of the page.
In summary, some of the key findings are:
- Pupils at Chelford CE Primary School are safe and happy learners; when questioned by inspectors, one child commented that the School was like 'one big happy family'.
- Pupils' behaviour continues to be a strength of the school
- Staff have high expectations of pupils and 'promote a love of reading from children's first days in school'.
- Children at Chelford CE Primary School develop, 'positive attitudes to learning which stay with them throughout their time at school'.
Inspectors agreed with the School's evaluation that the teaching and learning of phonics and development of documentation to support learning in some areas of the curriculum should be prioritised.
Since the inspection, good positive progress has been made through the implementation of the Little Wandle Letters and Sounds Revise scheme of learning for phonics, which has included a significant investment in new resources, a fully-decodable reading scheme, and whole school training for all members of staff. We look forward to updating families on our continued progress via email, newsletters and our curriculum documentation.
