The school hall is well proportioned space with high ceilings to enable it to be used for a range of different purposes. Indeed, it is the hub of much activity during the school day!
Each morning pupils gather for assembly / collective worship in our hall. In addition to teachers, visitors lead assemblies with our pupils to explore a range of different themes.
Indoor PE sessions take place in the hall which is large enough to accomodate a full class of children. Equipment such as climbing frames, gymnastic beams, mats, springboards etc.... add interest and enjoyment to pupils' sessions and help chidlren to recognise the benefits of leading healthy and active lifestyles.
During lunchtime, the hall is completely transformed; it is where our pupils come together to enjoy Helen's delicious lunches! Lunchtime begins with children leading a prayer before pupils are invited to collect their meals. Our Year 6 pupils assist Reception pupils by helping them to carry their lunches to their tables, where chidlren from different classes come together to enjoy their meals. This arrangements helps to foster stromg relationships and links between children of all ages.
The hall space also proves to be a wonderful resource during for our extra-curriucluar sessions. Morning yoga is a popular club as too the range of activities led by our Sports Coaching North West colleagues: hockey, streetdance and dodgeball.
We are also delighted to welcome the wider community to use our hall facilities. Between 10:00am and 11:30am on Wednesdays, the Chelford Baby and Toddlers' group convene in our hall and are joined by members of our on-site (though separately-run) Pre School. Members of St John's parish also hold a monthly service in the hall on the first Sunday of each month.
