School uniform

As of September 2020 we will be launching our new School uniform in partnership with Marks and Spencer.

The decision to collaborate with M&S was based on their enviable reputation for high quality garments at an affordable price and the level of customer service that they are able to offer our families including:

  • Bespoke online portal which can be accessed by desktop and mobile devices such as tablets and mobile phones
  • Phone ordering service - call 03330148418 to place an order or discuss queries
  • Free delivery on orders over £30.00
  • Express delivery option (available for £4.95 fee)

We look forward to working with M&S and welcome feedback from our families regarding the level of customer service which we can relay to further enhance our operations.

Our Uniform

At Chelford CE Primary School, we believe in developing a sense of belonging in our pupils so that they take pride in their appearance. Our new uniform was designed in consulatation with our School Council and approved by our Full Governing Board. We wanted to create a uniform that is comfortable and practical for daily class activities; one that looks smart and neat and one that is easy to adhere to, with clear guidelines and expectations.

From September 2020, or School uniform will consist of:

Boys Girls

White short-sleeved polo with embroidered School logo

In addition to the essential items listed above, we are also pleased to offer a range of non-essential School branded items, such as outerwear and bags. These items can be purchased from our M&S uniform portal and include:

  • Reversible coat
  • Fleece jacket (outerwear - fleece jackets will not be allowed to be worn during lessons)
  • Rucksack bags - two options available (small and large)
  • School book bags - we strongly encourage our infant pupils to bring a book bag to school each day

Jewellery

Children are not allowed to wear jewellery with the exception of a wrist-watch. Children wearing necklaces, wrist bands, bracelets, earrings etc. will be asked to remove them.

We would ask that pupils wishing to pierce their ears do so during the six week summer holiday. If this is not possible then pupils may present a letter with the date they were pierced and the date they can then remove earrings. Guidance usually suggests a maximum of six weeks.

PE Kit

In addition to launching a new uniform, we are also delighted to introduce a new PE kit.

Again, working in consultation with our School Council, pupils played a key role in selecting the design and fabrics for the new kit. From the outset we wanted to provide a kit that would be comfortable to wear and one which would respond to the challenges and demands of physical activity. School Council members decided that a lighter, 'performance' fabric should be chosen in preference to our existing cotton t-shirts. We were also keen to avoid selecting colours that could be easily stained by grass and mud, ensuring that kits would look clean and smart.

For outdoor games and activities in cooler weather, we wanted to provide a long-sleeved option and two are available for our parents to choose from: a 1/4 zip 'sweat' top and a 1/4 zip 'midlayer' top. The sweat top is introduced in sizes ages 3/4 upwards, whereas the midlayer is available from ages 5/6 upwards. Either of these garments are considered acceptable for PE sessions. We will also allow pupils to wear plain black jogging pants or tracksuit pants. These can be purchased via the M&S website or from regular stores and supermarkets.
