Curriculum design

“Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.”

-Aristotle

At the heart of an inspiring education lies a wide and inclusive curriculum which challenges pupils to develop their academic and personal skills; to become better learners and better people.

Our curriculum is inspired by what we know our pupils enjoy most: exciting lessons, engagement with technology as a tool for learning, access to topic-linked visits and visitors, collaborations with external specialists and most pertinently, a cross-curricular approach which enables pupils to acquire, consolidate and extend their knowledge and skills across several areas of the curriculum

In designing our curriculum offer, attention has been given to the manner in which pupils' previous learning experiences enable them to build knowledge and skills in a systematic and progressive manner. This provides cohesion across year groups and key stages.

We are proud that our curriculum promotes diversity across the gender, racial, ethnic and disability spectrum, celebrating the achievements of significant people, from both the past and present, whose accomplishments align to our School values and aims.

Intent, Implementation and Impact

The files below outline our priorities when considering our curricular offering. The Chelford Curriculum aims to take children on an exciting journey, begining with themselves, their village and family and extending to a greater exploration of the world and beyond. Threaded throughout our curriculum are our Christian values and children learn to value the virtues of tolerance, love, respect, hope and friendship.
